Civic Academy Foundation organised at the Sighet Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Anticommunist Resistance the Remembrance Day, a day for those who went through the communist prisons or deportation and for those who fought in the resistance against communism.
The Remembrance Day was held June 2 , the Ascension Day.
The 2011 edition of the Remembrance Day – the main topic was the deportation from June 1951 – was part of the “Remembrance of the Romanian Deportations” project, supported by the “Europe for Citizens: Active European Remembrance” programme of the European Commission.
