The international conference of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience was held in Warsaw in December 2023. The event consisted of the meeting of the Council of Members and an academic conference, “Remembrance as a key to understanding the present. Successful and comprehensive historical policies in the context of settlements with totalitarian crimes”. The meeting host was the Polish Institute of National Remembrance. The Civic Academy Foundation – Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Resistance was represented by historian Dănuț Vasile.
The Civic Academy Foundation – Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Resistance is a member of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience, an international organisation founded in 2011. The platform currently brings together 72 institutions and organisations (69 members and 3 candidates) from 24 countries in Europe and North America, active in research, documentation, and education about the totalitarian regimes which befell Europe in the 20th century.
