The exhibition “Memory as a Form of Justice. The Sighet Memorial”

4 Panou Afis engThe exhibition, realised by Romulus Rusan and a team of the International Center for Studies about Communism, was organised in partnership with Monica Macovei,MEP, under the high patronage of Mr. Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament.
The exhibition is dedicated to the Memorial of the Victims of the Communist Regime in Romania and to the Resistance. A first of its kind and scope in the former communist countries, the project of the Sighet Memorial was initiated in 1993 and received the patronage of the Council of Europe. The presence in the European Parliament of the Sighet Memorial came in recognition of its importance and the suffering and sacrifice of the peoples beyond the Iron Curtain in 45 years of Communism.
