The exhibition is a photographic summary of the Sighet museum. At the same time, it presents leading political and cultural figures that were imprisoned in the Romanian Gulag. It toured ten German cities between 1999 and 2003 and drew numerous visitors.

3 December, Frankfurt, Palais Yalta. On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition a debate was held, chaired by Werner Adam (editor-in-chief of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung). The speakers were Ana Blandiana and Dr Joachim Gauck.
