Between August 23-29 , the International Summer School “The Memory Culture and and the Cultural Heritage for the younger generation” was organized by the State University of Moldova, the Ministry of Culture and cultural Heritage, Center of Excellence the ProMemorial Institute in partnership with the Center for the study of genocide and resistance in Vilnius, Institute of History (Chisinau), Ipotesti Memorial – the national Center for studies „Mihai Eminescu” and the Sighet Memorial.
The summer school attended by students from the Republic of Moldova, Lithuania and Romania was funded by the Development Cooperation Project Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. The project manager was Virgil Bîrlădeanu, historian.
During the first days the participants were in Chisinau, Soroca and Ipotesti. The last days of the Summer School were held at the Memorial to the victims of communism in Sighet. The program included coferences and the visit of the Sighet Memorial.
