From September 30 to October 2 takes place in Krzyżowa a meeting of representatives of Foundation ‘Krzyżowa’, Pawel Wlodkowic Institute (Poland), Post Bellum (Slovakia), Centrum pro dokumentaci totalitnich rezimu, z.s. (Czech Republic) and Fundatia Academia Civica – Sighet Memorial (Romania) – partner organizations in the project ‘Monuments of Remembrance 1918-2018’, which is run within the framework of the Europe for Citizens Programme 2014 – 2020 Strand 1 European Remembrance.
During the meeting experts in the field of history and public history from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania discuss about historical policy and civic activities in the field of shaping collective memory. The participants
debate on the methodology and division of tasks, which they will implement together in the project ‘Monuments of Remembrance 1918-2018’.
The aim of the project is to understand the changes that have taken place in the collective memory of Central European societies over the 100 years since the end of the Great War. The project is being implemented from August 2018 till October 2019 by historians, public history experts, with the cooperation with school teachers and youth.
