Graeco-Catholic theologian, historian, secretary of the Great National Assembly at Alba Iulia on 1 December 1918, member of the Commission for the conclusion of the Concordate with the Vatican, adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Transylvania matters, member of the Romanian delegation to the Paris Peace Conference, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy (1919)
Arrested on 6 December 1949, released in 1953 and re-arrested in April 1957. Died during detention at the MAI in Bucharest, on 31 October 1957, a week after being sentenced to twelve years harsh imprisonment, with his appeal being rejected fifteen weeks after his death.
