Thursday, 20 May 2004, on the Ascension Day, Civic Academy Foundation and the Memorial to the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance organized at the Sighet Museum a day of memory, dedicated to those who suffered in the communist prisons.
At the round table, organized in the conference room of the Memorial and moderated by the director of the museum, Gh. Mihai Barlea, took part former political prisoners from Brasov, Ploiesti, Cluj, Timisoara, Alba, Bucuresti, Arad, Zimnicea.
After the discussions, the participants joined in the cellular of the prison the varnishing of the two new rooms of the museum, namely “The Pitesti phenomenon” and “The repression of the Churches”.
Afterwards they went to the Poors’ Cemetery on the outskirts of the city where a requiem in the memory of the victims of communism was held.
