On Monday 12 June, the round table School of Remembrance: 30 Years of Sighet Memorial was held in the conference room of the Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Resistance.
The round table, moderated by Dr. Andrea Dobeș, was attended by history teachers and pupils from Dragoș Vodă Upper Secondary School, Regele Ferdinand Upper Secondary School, and Technological Upper Secondary School for Forestry. Speakers included Andrea Dobeș, Gh. Mihai Bârlea, and Marius Voinaghi.
Following the round table discussion, a presentation titled 30 Years of Sighet Memorial: Past, Present, Future was delivered by Alina Giorgiana Tivadar, Anamaria Andreica, Mariana Valentina Boroica, Vasile Florin Mârza, and Iona Șuștic, pupils of Dragoș Vodă Upper Secondary School in Sighet. Their presentation was coordinated by teacher Claudia Dura. A surprise addition to the event was a drawing created by student Carina Bilașco from Regele Ferdinand Upper Secondary School in Sighet.
The event was held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Resistance and was organised by the Civic Academy Foundation in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
