On 15-16 December, we hosted The remembrance sessions, organized in collaboration with the Corneliu Coposu Foundation, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the Memoria Foundation, and the Pitești Prison Memorial. The two sessions brought together young students and pupils from Chișinău, Cluj, Iași, Brașov, Sibiu, Suceava and Bucharest.
On 15 December, a debate titled 1989-2023: Political, social, and economic developments after the fall of the communist regimes in Eastern Europe was held in the conference room of the Bucharest office of the Memorial to the Victims of Communism and to the Resistance. The discussion was moderated by Ion-Andrei Gherasim, president of the Corneliu Coposu Foundation. Mrs Ana Blandiana, President of the Civic Academy Foundation, was also in attendance.
On 16 December, the event continued with a guided tour of the Pitești Prison Memorial. This was followed by a debate titled Communist repression between history and remembrance, moderated by Cosmin Budeancă from the Memoria Cultural Foundation. Subsequently, the participants had a discussion with Niculina Moica, President of the Association of Former Political Prisoners in Romania.+
